Lola Duffie is one of 22 young performers selected from more than 2,000 applicants and will take on the role of Friday in the coming shows.
In recent months, Lola has thrived on stage as part of the Geelong Lyric Theatre Society’s production of School of Rock, stealing the spotlight as Summer Hathaway.
During School of Rock rehearsals, five other cast members also auditioned for Annie, with two making the top 100 and another two making the top 50 callbacks.

Geelong Lyric Theatre Society president Brad Treloar said Lola’s achievement was a proud moment for their community.
“She is a committed and hardworking young performer and to see her talent recognised at a professional level is incredibly rewarding.
“It shows the level of talent in our region and the role of the community theatre in helping young performers thrive.”

When not on the big stage, Lola trains in ballet, hip hop, jazz and contemporary dance at Motion Dance Company and studies voice at Stage Arts Geelong.
The young actress has also taken the stage in Billy Elliot, The Wizard of Oz and multiple youth productions with Stage Arts Geelong.
Tickets for Annie are on sale now, with opening night held on July 8 at the Princess Theatre.
