Mano Market launches
Launching on May 10, the Mano Market will run once a month at 20-24 Strachan Street, Manifold Heights on the second Saturday from 8.30am until 1pm
The market will be an eclectic mix of makers, growers, artisans and hot food held on the lower terrace of the primary school.
Rain or shine, market-goers can look forward to fresh produce, delectable baked pastries, sourdough bread and bagels, regenerative farmed pork and beef, charcuterie, preserves, sauces, herbal teas, handmade chocolate, fresh pasta and local honey.
There will be locally designed and handmade clothing, artworks, cushions, scarves, skin care, soaps, leather goods and dog coats.
Live music will also be a feature of the market. The first date will showcase Keely Mullens, a female vocalist and guitarist who will bring a relaxed Saturday morning vibe to market-goers.
Listen to the tunes and grab some morning tea or lunch; there will be freshly made Vietnamese Bahn Mi, Turkish Gozleme, delicious Bao buns and gluten free hot donuts. Grab a pastry and enjoy a freshly brewed coffee from local coffee roaster Tama Tama.
Mano Market aims to be an important hub for the local community, providing a social platform for local families and visitors alike, and an important economic opportunity for hardworking local small businesses.
Markets embrace the old-fashioned feel of yesteryear where visitors can chat with the maker or grower direct and learn the intricacies of a trade or farming practice.
Head down to the Mano Market tomorrow (May 10) and meet all the talented, passionate stallholders and support the school community.
Gold coin donations are thankfully accepted at the gate.
As the day before Mother’s Day, the market provides a perfect opportunity to grab some fresh flowers, gifts and great fresh food for Mother’s Day celebrations.
There will be giveaways at the gate of Mano Market merchandise for a selected few, so head along and meet the team at Mano and get the new venture started.
Dogs on leashes welcome.
