Meadow reveals full 2021 lineup
Meadow is back for a second take on its seventh instalment, with the multi-day music festival in Bambra revealing its full line-up for the Anzac Day long weekend.
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and Angie McMahon will headline the all-Australian lineup, which includes the previously-announced Close Counters, Surprise Chef, Elizabeth, Cool Sounds, 3K, Sweet Whirl, Darcy Justice and Caitlin Harnett & The Pony Boys, alongside new additions HTRK, Mimi Gilbert, Romero and Emma Volard over three days and two nights.
After cancelling its 2020 European and US run of dates, Melbourne’s King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard will take to the Bambra Bowl this April with even more releases from their expansive, genre-spanning catalogue over 15 albums strong and counting. 2020’s KG and 2021’s imminent LW see the band returning to their idiosyncratic microtonal ways, bringing in a new era as a six-piece.
They will be joined by Angie McMahon, who has made waves the world over since the release of her acclaimed debut album Salt, and recent reimagining Piano Salt.
Meadow will also introduce a virtual festival this year, partnering with Hutch Collective and Baked to present the event in the comfort of your living room from May 7-9. Access is via the Humanitix Virtual Events Hub.
The festival has a full COVIDSafe plan in place, which includes:
- Reduced capacity
- Temperature checks and basic COVID screening upon arrival
- Ticketholders grouped into Eastside and Westside with the site split down the middle to reduce crowding and minimise close contacts
- Three designated viewing zones (front, middle and back) in the amphitheatre to maintain social distancing while watching the performances, and
- Assigned coloured wristbands denoting each attendee’s designated viewing zone.
Meadow will take place in Bambra from April 23-25. A limited release of tickets is now on sale at $189 (plus booking fee) with teenagers accompanied by adults free to join in the festivities with a valid full-priced ticket, and children under 12 invited to attend for free.
All 2020 ticketholders will now have been contacted via email by the Meadow team to get reissued tickets for this year’s event.
Car passes will not be required (this year only) but Meadow is still committed to reducing its environmental impact. Carpooling is strongly encouraged, reusable drink bottles will be given to all attendees on arrival, and the Meadow team has planted 360 baby trees.
