Melbourne Ska Orchestra embarks on global tour
Melbourne Ska Orchestra is returning to the stages across the world with a new tour The Ballad of Monte Loco featuring new music.
The band will start its Australian leg of the tour in Sydney before making their way around the country, including a performance at the Wool Exchange on August 29.
Released today (Friday, June 27) the new album, The Ballad of Monte Loco is the group’s fourth studio album featuring singles including the new Bom Bom Bom and Walls of Jericho.
The band said their coming global tour was going to be wild and people could expect dancing, storytelling and a sonic journey.
“These shows will be a blend of the high-energy madness people know us for, plus some deeper, more cinematic moments that really lean into the new record.
“We’re taking the full 20-piece band across Australia and the international legs – packed with horns, rhythm, and joyful firepower.”
Formed in the early 2000s, Melbourne Ska Orchestra is made up of Australian musicians and performers.
Their debut album in 2013 earned them their first ARIA Award nomination, and the Melbourne Ska Orchestra went on to win Best World Music Album in 2016 and 2019.
Sold-out national shows, major festival appearances, three international tours and multiple awards have taken the band around the world including to New York, Tokyo, London and more.
