AUSTRALIAN comedian Dave O’Neill will top the bill for a month of stand-up at The Tin Shed in Barwon Heads this summer.
O’Neill will appear on January 8 as part of three Friday night comedy shows at the local venue throughout the month.
A familiar face to Australian audiences, he has featured on Spicks and Specks almost 50 times and appeared on programs including Hughesy, We Have a Problem, Have You Been Paying Attention? and Utopia.
He has also performed more than 20 Melbourne International Comedy Festival seasons and spent several years on Nova 100’s Hughesy, Kate and Dave breakfast show.
O’Neill said he is looking forward to returning to Barwon Heads.
“I’ve done a few shows down there at The Tin Shed and I just loved it. I holiday down at Lorne, and I just really enjoy being down there on the Surf Coast,” he said.
“I’ll do lots of material about turning 60 this year and getting old, and plenty about how the 80s were just better.
“I love going to different bits of Australia and I particularly love having a swim, which I’ll definitely do if the weather is nice at Barwon Heads.”
Audiences can expect plenty of interaction, he said.
“Hopefully we get a few young people there as they are always good to pick on – so are old people,” he said.
“I’ll get the crowd involved, but it won’t be forced. There’s no one from the crowd that needs to come up on stage and dance like a chicken. Sometimes when people are on holidays they love to chat, so let’s hope for that.”
Richard Stubbs and Tony Martin will also perform at The Tin Shed across January, supported by a rotating line-up.
The Tin Shed Comedy Room has been running since June 2025 and continues to draw strong crowds.
