Joe Cocker Express: Mad Dog vs The Englishman will pay tribute to the musician as it gears up to take the stage at the Geelong Arts Centre on February 20.

Presented by Good Company Entertainment, the performance will take audience members through Cocker’s career, capturing the two eras in his life, the Mad Dog and the Englishman.

Australia’s Chev Wilson takes on the title role, breathing new life into some of his classic hits with his uncanny likeness and voice.

Throughout the first act, the show explores the sounds of the 1980s, showcasing his voice that resonated with audiences around the world.

Attendees can expect to hear hits like Up Where We Belong, Unchain My Heart, You Can Leave You Hat On and more.

During the second act, expect to be taken back to the late 60s and 70s as the energy of the performance ramps up for the early years of Cocker’s career.

The upcoming performance will be focused around the two ears in Cocker’s life.

 

The act features renditions of Feeling Alright, The Letter and With a Little Help from My Friends, channeling performances that made the musicians career.

Over the course of his life, Cocker was well known for taking famous songs and turning them into something unique, adding his own twist to the originals.

The English singer was part of several bands, playing in pubs before his band Grease embarked on a world tour and played at a series of large festival including Woodstock.

Along with reinventing classic originals, Cocker also produced his own string of hits alongside Chis Stainton including Black Eyed Blues, Change in Louise, High Time We Went and more.
