Theatrical delights for everyone features in the 2023 Potato Shed season

The Potato Shed returned to normal programming at the launch of the 2023 Season Program.

The 2023 program, which launched the first week of December was a huge success, with organisers saying many in attendance snapped up tickets on the night.

The 2023 program features a mix of cabaret, music, cutting-edge contemporary theatre, plays by Australian playwrights, theatre for our young ones (and the young-at-heart) and the best of Australian comedy.

Resident Potato Shed theatre company Theatre 3triple2 4 Kids kick starts the January school holidays with their take on the classic Three Little Pigs. Be prepared for a tale involving planning permission and dodgy rebuilds from Tuesday, January 10 to Friday, January 13.

Summer Series 2023 takes over the outdoor and black box stage each weekend from Sunday, January 15 to Saturday, January 28. With shows for little groovers and big boppers alike, get ready for The Mik Maks, Sun Rising: the songs that made Memphis, The Seven Seas and Pineapple Head: Crowded House Unplugged Tribute Show.

In February, The Potato Shed will welcome 21-time Golden Guitar Award winning artist Sara Storer and her brother Greg as they bring their fair dinkum, roots-oriented country music to the Shed for one night only; Thursday, February 23.

Sons of Sun, the story of Sun Records, debuts Saturday, February 25. Written and presented by respected Sydney-based musician John Kennedy, who will be joined on stage by Murray Cook (The Wiggles) and Phil Hall.

The multi award winning Seaman: the Sea Shanty Spectacular sails into the Shed, Saturday, March 4. Gather your crew and get ready to shake your pirate booty.

Potato Shed regular Damian Callinan joins forces with award-winning Australian playwright Kieran Carroll in his portrayal of legendary Australian tennis player John Newcombe in NEWK! The John Newcombe Story. Book now and swing past Friday, March 17. Aeroguard optional.

Take a trip down memory lane with lovers Frankie and Shazza as they travel through time in Memoirs and Mullets on Saturday, March 25, with an added bonus of an ’80s disco after show party.

The spirit of Australia’s greatest country balladeer Slim Dusty is brought to life when Travellin’ Still: the Slim Dusty Show hitches up at the Shed Thursday, March 30. Featuring members of Slim Dusty’s last touring band, Travellin’ Still features stories and songs from one of the greats of Australian country music. It’s not to be missed.

Our ever-popular monthly Morning Showtime kicks off Tuesday, March 7, with a tribute to the original wild child of rock, Chuck Berry, Hail Hail Rock n’ Roll. Researched, written and presented by Geelong historian Colin Mockett, backed by Geelong band All Shook Up.
