Vacations hit the road for world tour

Vacations kickstarted their year with a performance at the Laneway Festival and have recently embarked on a world tour following the success of their third studio album.

The band are playing headline shows around the UK and Europe before returning to Australia where they will perform to crowds at the Torquay Hotel on July 3.New album No Place Like Home was released at the start of the year and has already had more than 30 million streams.

Vacations drummer Joey Van Lier said the latest album has been a labour of love for the band.

“We’ve shared tears, hugs and a lot of laughter during the making of this bad boy and now I am beyond excited for us to finally be able to bring these songs to you for the NPLH World Tour,” he said.

The band formed in 2016, with their debut album Vibes and Days released the following year.

Their song “Youngwas part of the first album and is certified gold in Canada, Australia and Poland, as well as Platinum is the US.

With their indie-rock style, the four-piece have previously sold out tours across the UK, Europe and North America.

Vacations song writer and vocalist Campbell Burns moved to Los Angles almost a year ago and said this tour will be a special homecoming for him.

“I’m really excited to see my family, friends, and my greyhound, Brock,” he said.

“We’ll be performing songs off our latest album No Place Like Home, as well as a curated setlist of our personal favourites and fan favourites.

“There’ll be some theatrics as well, which I’m eager to pull off, but you’ll have to come to a show to find out what that is.”

The band has appeared live on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, CBS Saturday Morning and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Following their Australian shows, they’ll head over to North America.
