CELEBRATING 10 years of making a difference in the Geelong community, a record-breaking 1,300 walkers joined the Surf Coast Trek in 2025.

Participants had the choice of taking on the 40km distance from Aireys Inlet or 26km from Anglesea to Torquay on April 5.

Raising vital funds for both the Kids+ and Give Where You Live Foundations, the Surf Coast Trek has raised an impressive $2.1 million over the course of its decade long history.

Funds raised are split equally between the two Foundations, supporting the incredible work they do in the Geelong community.

Enjoying near perfect walking conditions, trekkers made their way through ironbark forests, across stunning exposed cliff tops, and along sandy beaches, all with sweeping ocean views as they walked from Aireys Inlet to Torquay.

Trekkers spirits were high throughout the day, and with a lively finish line in Torquay, the event capped off an extremely successful 10th anniversary.

At the conclusion of the weekend more than $250,000 had been raised and with fundraising open for a few more weeks after the event, the goal is to raise $300,000.

Trekkers made their way into Torquay after walking through forests and along clifftops and beaches.

The Surf Coast Trek serves as the largest fundraising event each year for Kids+ and the Give Where You Live Foundations, supporting their programs and initiatives.

Give Where You Live chief executive officer Zac Lewis said the funds raised will assist the Foundation to continue helping create a fairer, more equitable community through a focus on food security, homelessness and inclusive employment across the Geelong region.

“We’re working hard to create a fairer Geelong and we can only do that with the support of our community.

“The amazing efforts of all of our 2025 Surf Coast Trekkers will help those most in need in our community.

“It was great to see so many out there enjoying the day and supporting the work of both Give Where You Live and Kids + Foundations.”

Kids + marketing manager Sharon Gibbons said the event was a testament to the power of community and the impact that can be made when people come together.

“We extend a heartfelt thank you to every trekker for their efforts and to everyone who has been involved in making the 10th Annual Surf Coast Trek a massive success. We’re beyond grateful for the support.”
