AFL BARWON’S Female Festival of Sport Breakfast is on Friday, July 4, at 6.45am at Geelong West Town Hall.

It will be a morning dedicated to celebrating, recognising and empowering women and girls in sport across the Barwon region.

Hosted by former Australian Diamond and elite netballer Madi Browne, the event will bring together local sporting clubs, community leaders, athletes, schools, and the wider public to shine a light on the contributions and achievements of females in sport at all levels.

Browne has just become Torquay’s head coach in BNL netball after moving to the town in October last year.

This year’s line-up of guest speakers includes Torquay Netball Club’s Meagan Mifsud, Geelong United basketballer Jaz Shelley and Geelong VFLW coach Taylah Hassett.

Shelley, a vice-captain, was the People’s Choice Award winner at United’s presentation night earlier this year.

“Join us for a powerful morning of networking, storytelling, and inspiration as we champion the future of female participation in sport,” AFL Barwon stated.
