GEELONG Chamber of Commerce hosted a bustling After 5 networking event at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club (RGYC).

The chamber’s After 5 events are regular social occasions where members congregate for refreshments and insights from prominent city figures spanning business, government, and the non-profit realm.

Sponsored by the RGYC, the October event attracted more than 240 representatives from local businesses with an interest in regional growth and the yacht club’s imminent developments.

RGYC general manager Steve Harper gave an insightful address that highlighted the upcoming Festival of Sails in January 2024.

Hosted by the RGYC and spanning the city’s waterfront, the Festival of Sails attracts more than 100,000 visitors every January.

The event is famous for its Melbourne to Geelong Passage Race, which is the oldest sporting event in the Southern Hemisphere.
