THE Australian International Airshow is returning to Avalon Airport this coming March and is set to be back bigger and better than ever before.

From March 3 to March 5, ticketholders can look forward to a whole new program with jaw-dropping aerial displays, a refreshed food and beverage offering and plenty of live entertainment.

To celebrate the much-anticipated return of the biggest aviation, aerospace and defence exposition in the Southern Hemisphere, the event is bringing even greater value for attendees including free access for children aged 15 years and under, free parking, a new second entrance to ease car and attendance flow, and an incredible ‘Friday Night Alight’ aerobatics and laser show.

The event is organised by AMDA Foundation Limited, and chief executive officer Justin Giddings said the changes to the airshow’s ticketing policy and entertainment offering meant there would be something for everyone to enjoy over the Airshow weekend.

“The Australian International Airshow is roaring into Avalon bigger and better than before.

We’re changing Airshow into an interactive experience for kids and families, a night out for the younger crowd, and a real treat for aviation enthusiasts – and this is just the beginning.

“Airshow favourites, including the incredible Wall of Fire display, are back along with some incredible new aerial attractions.

“We’re creating a whole new entertainment offering too: stay tuned for details on how we’ll be kicking off the weekend.”

In line with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, some changes have been made to the 2023 event layout, meaning grandstand ticketholders will be the closest to the action.

Mr Giddings said safety was the top priority with any aviation-related event, and improved shelter and dedicated viewing areas were also part of the fresh layout design.

The three-day festival will give ticketholders a chance to see breathtaking flying displays and an amazing array of static aircraft up close.

Tickets will be available for presale purchase to Airshow members today (Monday, October 10), and available for wider public purchase on Thursday, October.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
