THE All Ford Day took over Geelong’s Eastern Park with the largest single-make car exhibition in Australia.

Celebrating its 30th year on Sunday, the vehicle display completely sold out with a full 1,200 cars filling out the park.

Councillor Kylie Gryzbek officially commenced the event which celebrated the brand’s intertwined history with Geelong.

“Ford is in our blood here,” she said.

“It’s a great source of pride, multiple generations have worked in and around Ford for many years.”

The new Eastern Park location, matched with the ideal weather conditions, proved to be a success and vehicles filled three football ovals and surrounding areas.

Sales director of Ford Australia, Fadi Mawal said he was glad to be back where it all began.

“Ford is one of the leading businesses in terms of high-end technology and R&D in Australia, and we’re really proud that it all started here in Geelong,” he said.

A key feature of this year’s event was the 1991 EA Falcon GT which is a one-of-a-kind make and a nod to All Day Ford Day’s 30th celebrations.

Held in storage since the closure of the Ford Discovery Centre, the Geelong crowd got a rare chance to view one of Ford Australia’s most “ambitious projects”.

Event director Scott Pigdon said the event shows no sign of slowing down as he anticipates it will be in full throttle for many years to come.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better day,” he said.

“It’s been perfect for Ford lovers, friends and families to come out, have a wander and take in some amazing vehicles.”
