Anam Cara House Geelong launches Giving Week 2025, raising funds to support local families in palliative care.

Anam Cara House Geelong has launched its Giving Week appeal, encouraging the community to support local families navigating palliative care.

The campaign will help fund several key initiatives aimed at creating a warm and welcoming environment for both guests and their families.

Spiritual carer Jo Betz said the focus is on supporting everyone involved.

“It’s really important to us that we create an environment that is warm and welcoming for all members of the family, whether that’s children, partners, or members of the extended family,” she said.

“We want to ensure that they all feel welcomed here, and it’s like home.”

Donations will contribute towards Piper’s Corner, a new space designed for children visiting a loved one at Anam Cara.

“This Giving Week, we are raising funds for Piper’s Corner, an engaging space for children, memory making, and end-of-life wishes that will create a lasting impact,” Ms Betz said.

The appeal will also support the expansion of Anam Cara’s Living Well Day Program, incorporating art therapy, music therapy and movement sessions, as well as funding additional carer support and bereavement services.

“Each of these initiatives will have the biggest impact on all the guests and families that come through our doors here at Anam Cara,” Ms Betz said.

Supporters can donate online at anamcarahousegeelong.org.au with all contributions over $2 tax deductible. A gift form is also available for those preferring not to donate online.

Anam Cara has also released a supporter pack with social media tiles, posters and resources to help spread the message.

“On behalf of us all at Anam Cara, thank you so much for your generous support this Giving Week,” Ms Betz said.
