Anonymous note lights up one person’s day
AN ELDERLY Bellarine resident had her spirits lifted last week when she received a cheery anonymous note on her door mat.
The 80-year-old women has compromised health and has been stuck in lockdown since February.
She has sent a photo of the note to the Bellarine Times, asking us to publish it along with these words:
“To the sweet, caring young person who crept onto my verandah a left me a message of joy… thank you! The foolscap page said ‘Hope you stay safe in this lockdown’ coloured with a rainbow, clouds and sunshine. I love the painted pebble with a beautiful smiley face on one side and a one-eyed face on the other.
“I had a huge grin on my face on viewing it and I have had the same reaction for all friends and neighbours I have shown it to.
“The poster and pebble sit on my kitchen bench and I smile every time I see that evil eye looking at me.
“Thank you so much. I don’t know why I received such a special surprise, but I do treasure it. Thank you for being so thoughtful. Keep being you.
“Sincerely, S.O. Happy.”
