THE Give Where You Live Foundation is encouraging locals to dig deep and support those experiencing crisis through the 2023 Give Geelong Appeal.

Kicking off today until Friday, March 24, the Give Geelong Appeal encourages the community to help fund local education and employment programs and support people struggling to meet basic needs.

Give Where You Live Foundation Acting CEO, Meg Price said the Foundation was eager to see the community get behind the cause.

“We’re working hard to create a fairer, more equitable Geelong, where all people and places thrive and we can only do that with the support of our community,” Price said.

“Your donation to the Give Geelong Appeal will have an immediate and local impact.

“It will support people in our community facing long-term unemployment, help to improve educational outcomes for children, help people facing homelessness and support families struggling to meet their basic needs, including food insecurity.

“The need in our community continues to increase… supporting the Give Geelong Appeal will help us to meet the 57 per cent of requests we are currently unable to fund.”

Mrs Price said that there were many ways the community could help the Foundation achieve there $40,000 Give Geelong Appeal goal.

Today (Friday, March 17), locals are encouraged to wear there footy colours to work, school or sports club to kick goals for the community.

On Thursday, March 23, the Foundation will host their Give Geelong Breakfast with ‘I Quit Sugar’ founder Sarah Wilson.
