Architects hand in school plans

February 1, 2022 BY

THE STATE Government has revealed plans for a $6.5 million upgrade to Grovedale West Primary School.

Select Architects have designed concepts of the school’s new building, which is set to provide staff and students with flexible and adaptable working spaces plus new toilets, kitchen facilities and staff workspaces.

The upgrade includes the modification of the school’s existing playing field, landscaping and outdoor learning spaces.

South Barwon MP Darren Cheeseman welcomed the progress and said he looked forward to the start of construction.

“We’re making sure that our schools have the best facilities, our classrooms have the best teachers and that every child is given every chance to succeed,” Mr Cheeseman said.

“Grovedale families are a step closer to getting the great local school facilities their kids need to thrive. I am proud to be delivering this much-needed upgrade, and I look forward to the start of construction.”

The Grovedale West PS upgrade was a state budget commitment from November 2020 and is scheduled to finish late next year.
