THE talented pupils at Northern Bay P-12 College have put their works on show for all to see.

The school’s 2023 Arts, Design and Technology Showcase officially opened on Tuesday this week at the college’s Peacock P-8 Campus.

The expansive exhibition includes visual art, sculptural art, multimedia, design portfolios, textiles and more.

Speaking at the opening, Peacock Avenue Campus principal Kathleen Nardi said artists played an important role in our society.

“While the final result is to create an engaging piece, whether it be a song, a movie or a product, it can also be much, much more.

“The arts are an essential medium that humankind has for centuries used to comment and make sense of the changing world around them.

“As our world continues to grapple with issues such as climate change, war and peace, and the more personal issues of gender, sexuality and race, the opportunity to learn how to communicate feelings through art has never been more valuable.

The Arts, Design and Technology Showcase is at the college’s Peacock P-8 Campus.

“We need students of today to dream and unleash their creativity, and at Northern Bay College, these traits have never been more prominent than in our Arts, Design and Technology programs.”

The event opened to the public at the Peacock P-8 Campus, 27-37 Peacock Ave, Norlane, Saturday, November 11, will be open until November 21.
