Australia Day celebrations to hit Geelong
THE Geelong community will have the opportunity to celebrate Australia Day on Thursday, January 26, with two community events taking place in Lara and at Geelong’s Rippleside Park to mark the occasion.
A free breakfast and activities morning is set to be offered by the Lara Sporting Club from 8-10am, with a free egg, bacon, sausage and pancake breakfast provided for all attendees.
A choice of games and activities will be also be on offer for children and adults to enjoy.
On top of the food and entertainment schedule, there will be an official presentation for the Lara Citizen of the Year Awards.
The event will be proudly sponsored by the City of Greater Geelong and local Bendigo Bank branches and community groups.
At Rippleside Park in Geelong, there will be a commemorative Australia Day celebration, with free activities for family and children to feast on.
The festivities will include free games and roving entertainers from 11am-4pm and will conclude with a flag-raising ceremony.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their picnics and rugs and enjoy the range of food vendors options that will be available.
