BUSINESSES are showing support for Geelong United’s inaugural WNBL side, backing the region’s newest professional sports team through sponsorship.

The first business to publicly state its support for United, outdoor advertiser Gawk Outdoor, was officially announced as the club’s inaugural WNBL sponsor last month.

Based in Geelong and founded in 2018, Gawk Outdoor has been a key supporter of regional Victorian businesses.

Geelong United general manager of partnerships and marketing Connie Bolger said the club was thankful for Gawk Outdoor’s support.

“Having partnerships like this is invaluable to us,” she said.

“This upcoming WNBL season is pivotal for Geelong. In a region predominantly known for male sports, having a national team in the women’s league of such a great sport like basketball will really help to inspire future generations of female athletes.

“It’s important for the community, and we are excited to see the positive impact it will have.”

Gawk Outdoor has been in collaboration with Geelong United for the club’s Founding Membership campaign, advertising memberships on billboards around regional Victoria including Geelong and Torquay.

Geelong United also welcomed investment tracking platform Navexa as its major sponsor for 2024/25 after several years supporting the club’s VJBL, Big V Youth League, and NBL1 teams.

“Their support for women’s sports and dedication to young talent make them the perfect partner for our WNBL team,” Ms Bolger said.

“Their help not only makes us more competitive but also strengthens our community.

“We are proud to have Navexa on board and look forward to achieving great milestones together.”
