BIG4 Beacon Resort Queenscliff has been crowned Victoria’s Best Holiday Park at Wotif 2020 Uniquely Aussie Awards.

The awards were voted on by the public. Beacon Resort Queenscliff has maintained its strong reputation amid the challenges of COVID-19, ranking seventh nationally, despite Victoria being the state worst affected by the pandemic.

Beacon Resort Queenscliff’s marketing manager Emme Malone said while it has been a difficult time for the resort, the current signs are positive.

“It’s been really tough. We were closed for the majority of the year and just opened a couple of weeks ago to regional only,” Ms Malone said.

“But things are looking up now. We’ve got lots of forward bookings and people are ringing up and excited to get out and about again.

Ms Malone said the park had been fastidious in adapting to the new COVID-19 protocol.

“We’ve always prided ourselves on our cleanliness,” said Ms Malone.

“The biggest change is the disinfecting on top of the cleaning. We fog all our accommodation and our facilities with our cold fogger which creates a bit of a barrier on high touchpoints.”

Wotif managing director Daniel Finch said plenty of Australians had participated by voting online.

“The thousands of votes received this year made clear that every Aussie knows a local gem worthy of the spotlight.”

Ms Malone said the resort always values the feedback they receive online.

“We really do pride ourselves on online reviews as their obviously non-bias, people will say anything online, so it’s really nice that we get that feedback from guests.”
