Ben Folds announces extra Geelong date

American musician Ben Folds is coming to Geelong later this year, announcing today (Friday, February 20) he was adding extra dates to his sold-out Ben Folds & A Piano shows now touring Australia.

The tour features Folds performing both past and present songs, while sharing stories from his over three decades as a platinum-selling singer-songwriter and former frontman of Ben Folds Five.

The Emmy-nominated singer-songwriter has created an enormous body of genre-bending music that includes pop albums with Ben Folds Five, multiple solo albums, a holiday album, and numerous collaborative records.

Folds is widely regarded as one of the major music influencers of our generation. For the past three decades, he’s toured as a pop artist, while also performing with some of the world’s greatest symphony orchestras.

As a solo artist, hits include Rockin the Suburbs, The Luckiest, You Don’t Know Me, Still Fighting It, Still and with Ben Folds Five, Brick, Army, Philosophy, Underground, Kate, Song for the Dumped and One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces.

Multi-faceted US artist Lindsey Kraft will be special guest on all Ben Folds & A Piano – Encore dates, which also include Newcastle and Hobart.

After more than 20 years as a television and film actress known for her comedic timing and grounded performances, Kraft began a bold creative reinvention—learning piano from scratch at age 38 in order to tell her own stories through music.

What began as a personal experiment quickly evolved into a powerful new artistic voice, one rooted in humor, vulnerability, and lived experience.

Ben Folds & A Piano will come to Costa Hall, Geelong on October 3.
