THE Great Moscow Circus has started off their series of Geelong performances with their first show last night (Thursday, March 28).

The circus has a brand-new ‘Extreme’ show, featuring new riders and productions with performers from the Nitro Circus, dancers, aerial performances, a vocalist and more.

Great Moscow Circus creative director and trapeze artist Tahlia Weber said the show was completely different from the last time the circus was in Geelong, about seven years ago.

“We have the world’s best acts. Our brand-new act is Duo Acero, they’re Guinness World Record holders and gold medallists, they’re just incredible and we’re so excited to have them here.”

Ms Weber said she was looking forward to performing for the Geelong audience.

“Last time I was here I was about 16 and I remember the crowds always loved it, we got great feedback, so I’m really excited to bring the show to them again.”

Ms Weber, a seventh-generation circus performer, said the crowd was always on the edge of their seats from start to finish, with her 10-year-old brother Cruz being one of the highlights of the show.

“He is just incredible; he goes in the globe of death with the motorbikes and he’s the youngest in the world to ride with the other riders.”

Ms Weber said she loves living on the circus circuit and is excited to be performing again after a week off.

“I love travelling and you’re getting paid to travel and it’s just the best life, I love performing as well, I love the feeling of the crowd.”

The Great Moscow Circus is in Geelong after a three-month season in Tasmania, travelling with about 25 performers and will be at the Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre until April 14.
