Bonza seeks new commercial boss
LOW-COST airline Bonza, which flies in and out of Avalon Airport in Geelong, is on the hunt for a new chief commercial officer.
The carrier is also offering tailored packaged holidays to all of its 21 destinations, including flights from Avalon to the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast.
On Tuesday last week, Bonza announced Carly Povey would finish in her role on December 7.
Bonza revealed its initial route map almost exactly two years ago.
Ms Povey came to Bonza from UK airline Jet2.com, and led the Bonza team to create and build the Australian carrier’s brand, launching 38 routes and three bases (including Avalon).
“I joined the start-up crew at Bonza to play a key role in creating the best experience in the skies, to connect communities and deliver much needed positive change to the industry including an offshoot holidays business,” she said.
“Two years in, having set the business up for long term success, now is the time for me to move on to my next challenge, which I’ll start after a much needed summer break, and which will see me move outside of my comfort zone and pursue new learning and development opportunities.”
Bonza chief executive officer Tim Jordan said Ms Povey had played a fundamental role in setting Bonza up for long-term success.
