THE Give Where You Live Foundation is proud to present its fourth Conversations that Matter event on June 5 in the President’s Room at GMHBA Stadium.

Proudly presented on Wadawurrung Country, this year’s Conversations That Matter event will feature Brittany Higgins, a passionate voice in the ongoing fight against sexual assault, harassment, and gender-based violence in Australia.

Give Where You Live Foundation chief executive officer Zac Lewis said the foundation was pleased to provide a platform for the community to hear from Ms Higgins at the 2025 event.

“The Give Where You Live Foundation launched Conversations That Matter in 2022 to raise issues that can be difficult to talk about and create positive change,” he said.

“At this year’s event we want to encourage conversations on issues that matter to our community, and so the focus will be on giving a voice to the ongoing battle against gender-based violence.”

Ms Higgins, known for her courage in speaking out about her own traumatic experience, has become a prominent advocate, dedicating herself to reforming workplace culture, and pushing for a more just and supportive system for survivors of sexual violence.

Through her tireless advocacy and personal story, Ms Higgins has been playing an important role in reshaping the conversation on sexual harassment, particularly within Parliament House, which has had flow-on effects through workplaces throughout the country.

Conversations That Matter launched three years ago with 2021 Australian of The Year Grace Tame as the guest speaker and continued with Nova Peris in 2023 speaking on the theme of reconciliation.

In 2024, the Foundation welcomed Stan Grant to discuss new ways of having difficult conversations.

The series of events have been designed to start discussions in our community that will, in line with the Foundation’s mission, help create a more equitable, fairer, Geelong region.

Worksafe Victoria, GMHBA and the Transport Accident Commission are sponsoring the lunchtime event.

Tickets are $130 per person or $1250 for a table of 10 and are available to purchase from givewhereyoulive.com.au/events
