Business chamber reveals award shortlist

GEELONG Chamber of Commerce has announced finalists for its prestigious Business Excellence Awards.

Local business leaders will gather at GMHBA Stadium on October 27 to crown 2022 winners across 20 categories for organisations and individuals.

CentreStage Managing Director David Greenwood, Geelong Authority chair Diana Taylor, Gordon TAFE CEO Joe Ormeno, Cabinets by Computer general manager Justin Collins and Geelong Business Club president Maree Herath are in the running to be named Business Leader of the Year.

A field of three will also contest the Young Entrepreneur of the Year: publican Cam O’Keefe, hairdressing business owner Lee-Anne Campigli and psychotherapist Shannon Bowman.

Dozens of Geelong region businesses have won recognition as finalists in a host of business award categories. See below for a full list of nominees.

The chamber said it was thrilled with the quality and depth of entries for this year’s awards, with nominations up 20 per cent compared with the previous year.

“This is a huge testament to our incredible clever, creative and connected Geelong business community,” the chamber stated.

“Whilst not all entrants can proceed as finalists, the process allows all businesses to review and reflect on their business operations and potentially gain valuable insights and identify new key business improvements.”

Tickets are now on sale for October’s presentation night.
