THE stage at Little Malop Central played host to some of the region’s finest up and coming performers on Friday last week for the finals of Geelong’s Best Busker.

Presented in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong, the event has become a calendar favourite since its first competition in 2016.

Bellarine band The Violas were crowned this year’s winners, while The Gems Duo came in second.

In third place was Anastacia, with singer songwriter Riordan receiving the achievement award.

Event organiser Steve Thew said it was a great day and offered his congratulations to The Violas and all participating groups and individuals.

“Well done Jess, Aleesha, Fergus and Darcy from The Violas band. Such a talented lot here in Geelong,” he said via Facebook.
