SOUTHERN Bellarine residents will have their chance to question federal election candidates at a community forum next week.

Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Breamlea community associations will co-host the forum at Ocean Grove Bowling Club on Wednesday, April 27.

The associations have collected a range of questions from their constituents about the most important issues to them and their communities in the lead-up to the May 21 poll, which a moderator will put to candidates to give their personal and party views on the topics.

Organisers said the event was primarily for Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Breamlea residents and would focus on local issues, with further forums planned for Point Lonsdale-Queenscliff and the northern Bellarine later in the election campaign.

“In our marginal seat of Corangamite your vote can literally shape government, so make sure you are fully informed when you go to the polling booth,” an Ocean Grove Community Association spokesperson said.

Tickets are available online.
