THE Geelong Cats are making the most of their time in Adelaide, hosting a footy clinic at Adelaide Oval earlier today (Friday, April 11) after their gutsy win against the Crows.

Players including Sam De Koning, Mark Blicavs and Jack Bowes took part in the clinic, held at the same venue as last night’s 19-point win.

The Geelong vs Adelaide match was the first game of the AFL’s Gather Round, which features all 18 teams playing in Adelaide.

Cats recruit Bailey Smith starred with 35 disposals and a goal but may face a fine from the AFL after making a two-handed offensive gesture to an opposition fan as Geelong players walked off after the win.

Speaking to Seven earlier today, Smith offered an explanation for his actions.

“Probably not my best moment… we were just walking off, getting around the fans, and someone was getting stuck into Danger [captain Patrick Dangerfield] a bit more than he should have,” Smith said.

Mark Blicavs offers some encouragement.

“But yeah, we’re in enemy territory, I kind of love that sort of stuff, I love the back and forth between the fans.

“If I had my time again, I probably shouldn’t have done the double bird, but you know, it’s all part of it. There’s only so much you can cop.

“I’ll expect a fine, or something, but don’t talk s*** to the skipper, I guess.”
