Christmas in Geelong launch date revealed

YULETIDE fans can now block out November 30 as the opening night of the Christmas in Geelong program.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Geelong’s famous Floating Christmas Tree in Corio Bay.

Denis Walter will present the illumination of the tree with Santa alongside the annual Carols by the Sea event.

“Bringing these two iconic events together will ensure a spectacular start to the festive season in our beautiful city by the bay,” Mr Walter said.

City of Greater Geelong chief executive officer Ali Wastie said excitement was building ahead of the festive season.

“The launch of our Christmas in Geelong program will once again be a joyous and fun event for all ages.

“We are thrilled to partner with Denis Walter, a beloved Geelong figure, to deliver a new look and exciting celebration of Christmas.

“Keep an ear out for an update of what we have in store this festive season.”

The full Christmas in Geelong program will be announced at the beginning of November.
