AFTER a four-year COVID-enforced absence, the Clairvaux Carnivale will return tomorrow (Saturday, November 19) with fun, rides and entertainment for the whole family.

Touted as one of Geelong’s biggest school fetes, the biennial event will take over the grounds of Belmont’s Clairvaux Primary School for five hours.

The massive day of fun includes quality rides, food including a huge range of hot options, the Cheer Toastie Truck, high tea, live entertainment, a massive silent auction with listings such as Geelong Cats AFL items and a signed bat from Australian cricketer Aaron Finch, face painting, a petting zoo, dunk tank, gift stalls, a lucky dip,and much more.

Run by the Clairvaux Parents & Friends Association, the Carnivale is one of the school’s biggest fundraisers.

“It’s a massive day out and families come from all over Geelong, it’s great for all ages,” committee member John Watts said.

The all-day ride wristband will be $25 pre-purchased or $35 on the day with a large range of rides from Melbourne Amusement Hire including the Hot Gun, Whizzer, Tea Cups, Go Gator and Titanic Slide.

The wristband also includes the Mini Animal Farm from Fun Farms 2U.

The Carnivale has attracted as many as 3,000 people throughout the day with more than 500 people taking advantage of the pre-purchase offer for all-day ride wristbands, which saves $10 per person on the day.

Live entertainment will also include performances by Dazzling Dan The Magic Man and songs from Riley Catherall.

Funds from the event in previous years have supported the resurfacing of netball courts, shade sails and a fitness obstacle course.

The 2022 Clairvaux Carnivale will be held at Clairvaux Primary School, 74 Fryers Road, Belmont tomorrow from 10am-3pm.
