COMMUNITY Care Chemist has expanded its locations in Geelong to the north, officially opening its new Lara store on Sunday.
Residents were invited to attend the celebration at Shop 7 and 8 at 3-5 Forest Road, including a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Lara MP Ella George.
Attendees enjoyed giveaways and goodie bags, free coffee from Millars Lara and a Lions Club sausage sizzle, plus the chance to meet and greet the new staff.
The new pharmacist in charge and store manager Bao Nguyen is happy to be bringing this truly local brand of health services to the area.
“It’s really exciting. The feedback from the local community has been incredibly positive, and we’re proud to be open seven days a week, which means better access to healthcare for Lara residents,” he said.
“It’s a great opportunity to truly benefit the local area.”

Community Care Chemist chief executive officer Ben Flynn said he believes the new store will deliver great benefits for Lara locals and the wider community.
“Community Care Chemist has always been local and it will always be local, so we’re thrilled to be bringing our services to our customers in Lara,” he said. “This new store progresses our mission to deliver greater health for people in Greater Geelong.
“We look forward to partnering with local organisations and investing in programs to support the Lara community as it grows.”
Customers at the Lara store will benefit from expert pharmacists and will have access to a range of on-site health services including flu and travel vaccinations, medication packing, free medication delivery, and pharmacist consultations.
The store is open from 8.30am to 6pm weekdays, 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and 9am to 12 noon on Sundays.
