Corio Village stores listed among local exposure sites for COVID-19
SOME stores in Corio Village have been listed as public exposure sites for COVID-19, as well as businesses in Lara and Norlane.
This morning (Tuesday, August 24), Barwon Health notified Corio Village’s centre management that a customer who tested positive to COVID-19 visited the shopping centre in Purnell Road on Saturday, August, 21 between 12.15pm and 2pm.
As a result, Corio Village Shopping Centre’s common mall areas and four of its stores have been listed as Tier 2 exposure sites, and all customers and retailers present in these spaces at these specific times are advised to immediately test and isolate until a negative result is obtained.
The five Tier 2 exposure sites are:
- Common mall areas: 12.15-2pm
- Chemist Warehouse: 12.15-1.45pm
- Coles: 12.20-1.30pm
- Corio Fruit & Veg Market: 12.55-1.30pm
- McDonalds: 1-1.45pm
In a post on their Facebook page, Corio Village centre managment said the centre continued to closely follow the many proactive measures for cleaning, QR code check-ins, social distancing, face masks and support for all customers and retailers in maintaining personal hygiene.
“We will also continue to assist Barwon Health wherever possible with their contract tracing.
“In line with state government directives, as a provider of necessary goods and services, Corio Village remains open for all essential traders at this time.”
At 2pm today, Barwon Health added six other Tier 2 public exposure sites:
- Sunday, August 22: Riordan Fuels Lara (Shell) – 1 Forrest Rd, Lara – 1.25-2.10pm
- Friday, August 20: Bunnings Norlane – 5-19 Princes Hwy, Norlane – 3.15-4.15pm
- Thursday, August 19: Coles Lara Village, Waverley Rd, Lara 1-2.30pm; BP Corio, 298 Princess Hwy, Corio – 5.45-6.15pm
- Tuesday, August 17: Lara Physiotherapy Health Network, 46 Patullos Rd, Lara – 5.35pm – 6.30pm; Lara Post Office 4/2 Waverley Rd, Lara – noon-1.30pm
- Monday, August 16: Lara Physiotherapy Health Network, 46 Patullos Rd, Lara – 4-5.30pm
Barwon Health’s testing sites have extended hours to cater for increased demand.
