Dashcam sought after targeted robbery of firearms in Lara

POLICE are appealing for public assistance after four firearms and several power tools were stolen from a rural property in Lara last month.
Investigators believe multiple unknown offenders broke into a work shed on the property about 3.20am on July 21.
The offenders forced entry into the property before breaking into a firearms safe and stealing four firearms.Ammunition is also believed to have been taken, as well as several power tools including chainsaws, whipper snippers and other gardening equipment.
Detectives from the Western Region Crime Squad are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity or vehicles in the area, particularly around Windermere Road and Forest Road in Lara during the early hours of July 21.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage from those roads between 2.30 am and 4.30 am that day.
“We believe this was a targeted burglary where multiple firearms, ammunition and tools were stolen,” Detective Senior Constable Steve Robinson said.
“Any firearm or weapon in the wrong hands can pose a significant risk to the community.
“If you were driving in the area or live nearby and have dashcam or any other information, no matter how minor it may seem, we urge you to get in touch.”
