Deakin move into world’s top 250 universities

DEAKIN University has moved into the world’s top 250 universities according to the latest 2024 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University rankings.

The institution has climbed up 33 places from last year’s statistics, confirming its position in the top one percent of universities worldwide.

The prestigious QS World University Rankings focus on key indicators including Research and Discovery, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, Global Engagement and Sustainability.

Deakin University vice chancellor professor Iain Martin congratulated the Deakin community on the huge achievement.

“As we approach our 50th anniversary at the end of 2024, I am pleased Deakin’s progress and leadership continue to be recognised on a global stage.

“What we do matters to our students, our local communities, and Australia.

“And, through our extensive community, industry and academic networks, what we do matters internationally.

“We have made extraordinary progress in our comparatively short life and remain focused on driving a culture of innovation, creativity and excellence while staying true to our founding values of inclusion and access to education.”

The QS data showed Deakin was particularly successful in the areas of International Faculty (130th in the world), Citations per Faculty (160th) and International Students (249th).

Deakin University has campuses in Waurn Ponds, Geelong, Warrnambool and Burwood as well as a innovative online learning environment.
