Developer helps Samaritan House continue fight against homelessness
LARA-based property developer Bisinella Developments has joined the fight against homelessness in the Geelong region, donating land in aid of a not-for-profit organisation.
Proceeds from the sale of Lot 337 of Reflections Crescent at Lara Lakes Estate will be used to cover operating costs of Samaritan House, a Moolap-based charity that aims to provide crisis accommodation for homeless men across Geelong.
Samaritan House Geelong director Wally Pelaccia said the organisation was grateful to receive the land.
“We couldn’t provide the level of support to this vulnerable community without the support from Lino Bisinella and the wider Bisinella family,” Mr Pelaccia said.
“Bisinella Developments’ donation of Lot 337 at Lara Lakes Estate is a testament to their commitment to addressing homelessness and supporting the Geelong community.
“This generous act will help Samaritan House continue to provide critical services to those in need and work towards a future where everyone has a place to call home.”
Bisinella Developments director Richard Bisinella highlighted the severity of homelessness, not only in Geelong, but also across Australia.
“This makes support for organisations like Samaritan House even more important, and I’m proud to contribute to helping the welfare of some of Geelong’s most vulnerable,” Mr Bisinella said.
“I would welcome everyone to donate to this incredible organisation to ensure everyone in our community has access to essential services and support.”
The land will bring Bisinella’s total contribution to Samaritan House to more than $1 million over the past four years.
That sum has helped close to 70 per cent of Samaritan House guests move on to secure housing or rented accommodation.
