Diesel to rock Barwon Heads by request
The American-born, Australian-raised musician is fresh off his Bootleg Melancholy Album Tour and is gearing up to return to the stage in August with his By Request regional tour.
Crowds will have the chance to shape where the night takes them, with career-spanning hits filling the evening, powered by audience requests and no two performances the same.
“By Request is an opportunity for my audience to tell me what they want to hear, which I’ve always found really fascinating,” Diesel said.
“It’s also rare that I get to connect with a song and a particular listener through the process of making a request, that direct contact can be inspiring during a performance.”
Diesel first landed in the music industry as part of the band Johnny Diesel and the Injectors before launching a solo career in the 1990s.
Since then, he has released several #1 albums and collected six ARIA Awards, opened for the likes of Jimmy Barnes and recorded with legendary producer Terry Manning.
His most recent endeavour took him back on the road as he released his 17th studio album Bootleg Melancholdy in 2023.
“Having toured with my band earlier this year, I’m looking forward to treading solo in a theatre environment, a space I’ve grown to love, along with my affinity with rural parts of Australia, the extra oxygen, space to hear oneself think and the palpable enthusiasm of a country crowd,” Diesel said.
“I’ve got a lot to look forward to.” Diesel will perform at the Barwon Heads Hotel on August 30.
