Donors encouraged to claim Rippleside playground mementoes
COMMUNITY members who supported the inaugural funding of the Rippleside playground can register to claim their piece of playground history.
The City of Greater Geelong is encouraging locals who helped fund the playground back in 2001 to secure the wooden pickets on the boundary fence that carried their names.
The Rippleside playground has now reached the end of its life and will be replaced by a new inclusive playspace – set to be Geelong’s first Livvi’s Place.
Rippleside will become the ninth Livvi’s Place facility in Victoria.
The existing playground and public toilet are now closed to the public in preparation for being dismantled to make way for the new facility.
A new Changing Places toilet facility is expected to open to the public in early 2025, with the new playground to follow around mid-year.
Those wishing to secure their pickets can do so by registering by October 17.
