THE warm weather didn’t stop thousands of people from flocking to Johnstone Park last Saturday (January 18) for the Geelong Beer Festival.

Around 5000 people attended the event where a lineup of world-class breweries, cideries, distilleries, cocktail specialists and vineyards was on display.

Food trucks, live music, entertainment, masterclasses and more added to the experience, attracting people from across Victoria and interstate.

Jordy Maxwell entertained festival goers when he took to the stage.

Festival director Kieran Blood said this year’s festival was an all round success.

“Our crowds were up about 10 per cent on last year, the weather was perfect, it was a really good vibe for the day, a really good crowd who were all so polite and so happy, everything went so smoothly, it was great,” he said.

Around 5,000 people made their way to Johnstone Park for the festival.

“All the vendors had an amazing day; we were a few down because of the current climate, but the ones that were there certainly made the most of it and had a good day.”

Mr Blood said one of the highlights was the live entertainment – with two stages, music was able to run consistently throughout the day.
