Eastern Beachpool closed for maintenance

May 18, 2023 BY

THE children’s pool at Eastern Beach Reserve will remain closed until May 29, while the city completes maintenance works.

To comply with safety and pool regulations, the City of Greater Geelong during the past two weeks has worked to drain the pool, pressure clean the tiles and replace broken and missing tiles in the area.

The city’s acting director of city services, David Greaves said the works had been timed to avoid peak usage periods such as the summer season and school holidays.

“The children’s pool has been enjoyed by families since 1938 and we want to make sure it continues to be safe, clean and well maintained,” Mr Greaves said.

“We know that the children’s pool provides a number of health and wellbeing benefits for children and is a drawcard in our region.

“We look forward to welcoming eager young swimmers back to the pool when the works are complete.”

Signage has been put around the pool to alert parents and carers of the closures.

The sea baths and promenade area remain open.
