EMU Australia celebrates homegrown success

GEELONG-born brand EMU Australia is celebrating Australian Made Week with a significant contribution to local manufacturing.

Australian Made Week, running from May 19 until May 25, recognises the creativity, craftsmanship and dedication of local makers and growers in Australia.

Last year, 86 per cent of EMU Australia’s domestic business was generated by its Australian Made products, a milestone that pleases owner Paul Neate.

“We are incredibly proud of our Australian heritage and our ongoing commitment to local manufacturing,” he said.

“The fact that 68 per cent of our Australian business comes from our Australian Made range speaks volumes about the quality and desirability of our products, and the appetite for locally made goods, both domestically and internationally.”

The footwear brand is celebrating 68 per cent of domestic business being generated by is Australian made products.

 

The footwear brand was established in Jackson’s Tannery in 1948 and has remained a privately owned Australian business, deeply connected to its Geelong heritage.

Around the world, EMU Australia ships to premium department stores, alongside independent boutiques and retail channels.

Annually, the company ships 15 containers of Australian Made products to 50 countries.

Australian Made chief executive Ben Lazzaro said it was great homegrown brands contributed to supporting the Australian manufacturing industry.

There is a growing demand for Australian products, with country of origin increasingly influencing purchasing decisions.

Australian Made Week celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship of creatives in Australia.
