BARWON Health Foundation’s annual Catwalk4Cancer fashion and fundraising event has raised $57,000 which will help support cancer patients across the region.

Friday evening’s event marked the Andrew Love Cancer Centre’s 30th anniversary and to commemorate the milestone the Geelong Arts Centre welcomed more than 250 guests to experience a full immersive fashion show.

Over 250 guests got to capture a full immersive fashion experience from some of Australia’s best designers.

The night featured a runway show by naming rights sponsor Ena Pelly, while themed fashion installations by local brands, Tinky, Chez Ma Belle, Birdskin, Pearls & Roses and Salt & Soda also featured.

Renee Enright and Deni Todorovic hosted the event and attendees also heard from local cancer patient, Diana Ojajune, and enjoyed roving entertainment.

The event celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Andrew Love Cancer Centre.

Barwon Health Foundation executive director Zoe Waters said the charity’s 12th Catwalk4Cancer event was its best yet, with so many embracing the opportunity to support the cause.

“We are incredibly grateful to all of the sponsors, event partners and attendees who embraced the exciting new format and gave so generously to deliver a memorable 30th anniversary celebration for Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre,” she said.

“Funds raised will contribute to the Foundation’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre Lasting Legacy Fund, which was established in recognition of the 30-year milestone to support the next chapter of local cancer care.

“The centre has touched the lives of thousands of local patients and their families over three decades and these funds will be invested so the money – and its impact – can continue to grow, giving back indefinitely to families needing to access cancer care in Greater Geelong well into the future.”

The evening was said to be the charity’s best fundraiser yet.
