Festival of Sport to welcome juniors to the big field
Budding young athletes are invited to try their hand at something new at Kardinia Park to kickstart their long weekend.
The 2026 Festival of Sport tomorrow (Friday, 6 March) will welcome more than 30 different sporting and recreation clubs from across Geelong to GMHBA Stadium.
Weekend favourites will share the spotlight with new and emerging sports on Geelong’s own hallowed turf.
The event also has a new Friday twilight time slot.
Kardinia Park Stadium Trust chief executive Gerard Girffin is excited to see the community event return for a sixth time.
“The Festival of Sport is a highlight on our calendar each year, providing the community with the opportunity to enjoy and try a variety of sports at Kardinia Park,” he said.
“It’s an opportunity for all the family to have fun and take to the same field as their sporting heroes.”
Participants include team, individual, all-abilities and para sport organisations, as well as artistic sports clubs.
With more than 30 sports to try, those who need a break are encouraged to explore the Geelong Sports Museum.
The museum will be open with free entry throughout the event.
Gates will open at GMHBA Stadium from 5pm, with entertainment and food trucks also attending.
