Fishing forum to hook into Geelong
THE Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) will for a fourth consecutive year be bringing an informative fishing forum to Geelong.
The free session on July 30 at the Geelong & District Angling Club will provide the perfect opportunity for local anglers to hear from experts and discuss their much-loved pastime.
It will primarily focus on recreational fisheries in Port Phillip, along with breeding cycles and population changes in other key fisheries.
Experts will also give community updates on projects being delivered in the region through the State Government’s $96 million Fishing and Boating Plan.
VFA acting chief executive officer Luke O’Sullivan said he looked forward to working with the community and hearing how to further improve facilities and everyone’s time on the water.
“These forums are the perfect place to ask that burning question that’s long been debated among family, friends and mates,” he said.
“We’re really keen to hear what matters to fishers in their neck of the woods because locals know their patch better than anyone.”
The forum is free and bookings are not required.
The Geelong session will run from 7pm to 9pm.
