Flick the Switch with Santa competition returns
TWELVE lucky children will have some of their Christmas dreams come true this festive season by meeting Santa Claus and helping light up Geelong’s famous Floating Christmas Tree.
The City of Greater Geelong is excited to be bringing back the Flick the Switch with Santa competition this year for kids aged 12 years and under.
Twelve fortunate winners, along with their immediate family, will receive exclusive access to a prime spot at the Christmas in Geelong Opening Night event on November 11.
One child from the 12 finalists will then be randomly selected to flick the switch with Santa and illuminate the night sky.
Mayor Trent Sullivan said he was looking forward to the event providing local children and their families with an experience to remember.
“Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to create cherished memories for your child and your family at our Christmas in Geelong Opening Night event.
“It’s a magical night to start the holiday season off in style.
“There will also be roving performers, a stage show, fireworks, the tree’s light and sound show and fun activities for the whole family.”
Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken said he couldn’t wait to take in all the holiday joy and community spirit this festive season.
“We love getting our community together at Christmas time.
“I also encourage you to check out our Christmas in Geelong 2023 Program, which will be distributed next month.
“There are so many ways you can experience the joy of Christmas and get involved in the festivities across Greater Geelong.”
Locals can enter the Flick the Switch competition by heading to Flick the Switch competition on the Christmas in Geelong website.
There is no limit on the number of times you can enter this competition.
Each entry must include the parent or guardian consent form for the nominated child.
Competition closes on November 1, and the winning finalist drawn on November 11.
Winners will be contacted privately.
