AFTER its successful launch in Ocean Grove earlier this month, ReSound Music Festival is set to continue this weekend at several venues across central Geelong.

The free event, delivered as part of the City of Greater Geelong’s Live and Local program, will take place tomorrow (Saturday, June 22) and will see some of the region’s best homegrown talent activate surprising locations with live music.

Singer songwriter Summer de Vries will start the event with a performance at Popcultcha Records & Books from 1.45pm, followed by Surf Coast folkstress Jasmin Adria and the acclaimed Rach Brennan, celebrating her new solo project and single.

At Pistol Pete’s Food n Blues, the festivities will begin at 2pm with indie/pop rocker Lucy Lorenne and her five-piece band, before guitarist Bec Goring and the soulful Wild Gloriosa take the stage.

Meanwhile, self-described Australian sharehouse-pop singer Hassall will entertain audiences at The Hot Chicken Project into the afternoon, as will singer songwriter Ella Sweeney and country musician Nathan Seeckts.

Murran Hub will also host First Nations acoustic group Loud n Deadly and pop/soul songbird Kee’ahn, while Rhianna Fibbins, Daisy Kilbourne and Romantic Bastards will perform at Lou’s Pizza and Wine.

Geelong mayor Trent Sullivan said the city was “thrilled” to support live music and the region’s hospitality industry by delivering the ReSound Festival.

“We had a great turn out from music fans at ReSound in Ocean Grove earlier this month, with some businesses reporting that they had their biggest Saturday of trade in a long time.

“We look forward to welcoming more community members to central Geelong this Saturday.

“This free event will open attendees up to the unique sounds of 17 incredible established and emerging local and Australian artists and brands across six venues.

“Get some loved ones together and make an afternoon of it by exploring pop, rock, soul, punk, country and more. Attendees can set up at a venue, or wander between them to discover their new favourite act.”
