Fresh Food Fair returns
THE grounds of Surfside Primary School will be filled with food, entertainment and community spirit as the Fresh Food Fair returns tomorrow (Friday, November 1).
Entertainment will be on offer for all ages, with plenty of stalls, live music, food, traditional cake stalls and more.
“The kids and the community are excited to have lots of fun, share lots of experiences with each other and come together,” Surfside Primary School principal Peter Walsh said.
“The entertainment we’re really excited about, we’ve got a number of their parents performing who are really talented and it’s just bringing staff, students and community together.”
The basketball courts will play host to the sounds of the Surfside Primary School band, two contemporary rock bands from St Ignatius College, Surfside’s Got Talent Show, Ange Rogers, The Foundation Fab Four and Mr Morzinek and friends.
Carnival rides, a petting zoo and soccer games will take over the oval for the evening, with carnival ride tickets available for single-entry or unlimited rides.
Each class will also be running its own market stall offering food, side show games, potted plants and more.
The fair is the school’s biggest event on its calendar and showcases the school and the importance of the environment.
Funds raised from the event will go towards the school’s Kitchen and Garden Program, offering students a unique hands-on experience in cooking and gardening.
“The event supports the award-winning kitchen and Garden programme that allows our students to participate in rich and extracurricular activities,” Mr Walsh said.
The Fresh Food Fair will be held at the school grounds at 31-65 John Dory Drive, Ocean Grove from 3.15pm until 7.30pm.
