Fundraiser to deliver plus for allied health
MORE than 300 people will attend The Pier Geelong for a special fundraising luncheon to support the work of local not for profit foundation Kids+.
The 11th edition of the Kids+ Grand Final Eve function will be held on September 29 and raise funds to help provide paediatric allied health therapy and support services for babies, children and young people living with disabilities.
Headlining the event will be much-loved Geelong presenter Roxie Bennett, who will be the event master of ceremonies.
Local band Test Pilot Molly, drag performer Amanduh, and a fashion on the pier show will also no doubt have locals entertained and in the giving mood.
Ms Bennett said the Kids+ event was one of her favourite events to host each year.
“I’ve had a connection with Kids+ for a number of years and it never ceases to amaze me the phenomenal difference it has on the lives of the children it works with and the families who get to see their children given the best opportunity to reach their full potential.
“As a community we are so lucky in Geelong to have this world class facility right here doing ground-breaking work to change the lives of kids and their families.
“I simply can’t wait!”
Event organiser and Kids+ marketing manager, Sharon Gibbons said the event will celebrate all the great work Kids+ do in the community.
“It’s an organisation that I am incredibly proud to be part of.
“This year, we will have a group of formidable young women, who are Kids+ participants, in attendance who will give our guests an insight into their lives.
“This group has been instrumental in leading change across the community, and we are honoured to have them along.
“Kids+ also have a long-standing relationship with Roxie, and we are delighted to have her as our MC again this year along with our other performers.
“We can’t wait for what will be a really exciting day.”
The all-inclusive day will include music, food and plenty of dancing.
