G21 Stakeholder Forum cancelled
THE G21 Stakeholder Forum scheduled to be held tomorrow (Friday, August 6) and broadcast online has been cancelled due to Victoria’s impending snap COVID-19 lockdown.
“Unfortunately, the studio-based broadcast format, with a gathering of speakers, staff and production team, would not have complied with the stringent lockdown restrictions,” G21 chief executive Giulia Baggio wrote in an email this afternoon.
“I would like to sincerely thank all of those who registered to watch the online forum, we deeply value your interest in the G21 region and all it has to offer.
“Like you, we are deeply disappointed not to be going ahead with our event.”
The forum – which was to have been presented in a virtual format and streamed for free for the second year in a row – was to be MCd by former ABC Radio Melbourne presenter Jon Faine.
Scheduled guests were to include author and journalist George Megalogenis and urban research expert Distinguished Professor Billie Giles-Corti.
There was also to be a panel discussion with ideas and insights into sustainable growth and shaping a community for future generations featuring Wadawurrung Traditional Owner Corrina Eccles, sustainable architect Jeremy McLeod, economist Angela Jackson and urban planner Nat Anson.
