GEELONG businesses will have an opportunity to access a renowned and impactful leadership program thanks to a new partnership between the Geelong Chamber of Commerce and Leading Teams.
For the first time in 2026, Leading Teams will deliver its High Performing Leaders Program in conjunction with the chamber, which will help companies improve performance, capability and leadership.
At last week’s launch, attendees were given an insight into the program from Leading Teams co-founder Ray McLean and partner Jesse McLean.
Ray White chief financial officer Tania Cek, Former Australian Diamonds netballer Caitlin Thwaites, and AFL stars Isaac Smith and Liam Shiels all discussed their experiences with Leading Teams and how it has benefitted them in their respective careers.
Chamber chief executive officer Jeremy Crawford said the program was a valuable opportunity for local businesses.
“The exciting part for us is we know that there’s a huge amount of leadership development and capability that’s needed to really match pace with the growth of Geelong,” he said.
“There’s obviously so much opportunity here, a lot of industries are growing and we see ourselves at the chamber as playing a role to help develop that next wave and generation of talent.”
He added his praise for Leading Teams and expressed his excitement for the program.
“What Leading Teams brings is a completely proven record over the decades of working with organisations across all sorts of industries, including sport, but more importantly across the business sector,” he said.
“Having a tailor-made program to really develop that capability is exactly what we need right now.”
The program’s first intake is set for 2026. For more information or to express interest, head to geelongchamber.com.au
